It was not exactly a secret that an extra-hot version of the 488 was in the works deep inside Ferrari factory in Maranello, especially since Porsche released their GT2 RS last year. Now the first complete picture of this beast has leaked and we get our first look at the new 2019 Ferrari 488 GTO. And in case you are in a hurry to know, it has 700 horsepower.  Ferrari 488 GTO is the successor to the 360 Challenge Stradale, the 430 Scuderia, and the 458 Speciale. But this one is apparently so good, they went ahead and gave it the venerated GTO badge. The name has not yet been confirmed officially, but a lot people are calling it that. So it is almost certainly the official name. Now, those three letters hark back to what is possibly the most glorious part of Ferrari’s history and perhaps the entire automotive culture. So the new boy had better be damn good, or Ferrari will get some serious stick from their hard-core fans. But of course it is gong to be awesome in every way, this 488 GTO, because it’s a new Ferrari. These days GTB Ferraris are better investments than gold and bonds and property. And that is why we reckon this awesome 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Scaglietti will go for more than its estimate of €1,800,000 to €2,200,000 when RM Sotheby’s auctioneers drop the hammer on it at their February 8 event. The soberly restored and maintained apple green 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Scaglietti, one of only 250 examples ever built, boasts its original 3.3 liter SOHC triple Weber carb V12 engine with the original five-speed manual transaxle. It is Ferrari Classiche certified which means you can be sure fully independent coil-spring suspension with upper and lower wishbones, Koni tubular shock absorbers, and four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes and every other bit is in tiptop condition and as it was when the car first rolled off the production line. As you may know from our previous reports on Vorsteiner’s plans for this year’s SEMA show, they have brought with them a couple of hotties boasting the latest aero kits they have developed in-house. The hotties in questions are the hot-out-of-oven Vorsteiner McLaren 570VX and the Vorsteiner Ferrari 458VX which is a new take on an old model. These kits are among the very best in business for these super cars, McLaren setting new standard for the 570 and the 458 schooling other tuners on how it’s properly done. Both kits are also top-notch in terms of quality, as they are made from Vorsteiner’s refined pre-preg carbon fiber. The Vorsteiner McLaren 570VX has the more elaborate treatment here, featuring completely revised bumpers with new spoiler lip, side wings and intake grilles up front, a new diffuser and tailpipe cutouts out back, aero side blades and side vent bezels, and a giant GTR rear wing which is a real attention grabber. You know Capristo as the maker of top-notch exhaust systems for exotic cars. This time though, they have come up with an exclusively aesthetic package. Capristo Ferrari 488 Spider is given by the tuner a range of new carbon styling components that make it look deliciously more aggressive. So maybe the exhaust maker decided the 488 sound good enough as it is and instead of wasting time tweaking that sound went and made some cool carbon parts for it. The main highlights of Capristo Ferrari 488 Spider include a front splitter with side wings which they have used previously on 458 models, tail light covers, mirror caps, rear air guide panel, side air panels and a new carbon fiber bonnet (engine cover). Following their excellent work with the Novitec F12, the guys at RACE! South Africa tuning center have now come up with a similar treatment for that car’s little sister. The Novitec Ferrari 458 Speciale A they have put together is one of the most unique examples of this model, and the 458 series in general, in the world. Beginning with a Speciale Aperta which is, as it clearly says in the name, a very special thing, RACE! tuners have added to the car a complete Novitec Rosso styling package as well as custom painted wheels. The wheels are painted to match the wonderful mix of yellow and dark blue stripes on the body of the car. And they work brilliantly, although we have to say we would rather the interior on this car wasn’t red as it kind of clashes with the rest of it. RACE! The big news for Ferrari at this year’s Paris Motor Show was supposed to be the debut of the LaFerrari Aperta. But the open-top hypercar was kind of overshadowed by five special edition, Tailor-Made models built to celebrate the brand’s 70th anniversary in style. Actually these five special edition models are each representatives of 70 production cars that will feature the showcased liveries. That is a total 350 special edition models in these unique colors. What a way to mark an important anniversary and make some serious money on the side! Those of you who know your Liberty Walk kits know that a major part of these treatments is the air suspension system which is what gives the car that unique LB-Works stance. This time, though, somebody decided to just go for the suspension mod without the body kit, and the result is this bagged Ferrari 488. Of course, because it’s an air suspension system this bagged Ferrari 488 is not always a ground hugger and be raised to the standard height of the car at the touch of a button. But it does gives us a good idea what an extreme mod like this – usually reserved for cheap Hondas and Mitsubishis – looks like on a high-end car like the GTB. That said, for all we know this car is going to an LB-Performance workshop next to get its fenders chopped off and new Liberty Walk pieces bolted on.
