People keep telling us the horsepower war between German automakers is a thing of the past. How, then, will they explain the new 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63, which is more powerful than ever? This mighty offroader now packs an insane 585 horsepower from a 4.0 liter V8.  Based on the new generation of the G-Wagen with its cute new lights and fancy interior, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 is also the most capable iteration of this car ever built. Zero to 100 km/h takes only 4.5 seconds. That alone is mind-boggling in a car this size. The limited maximum speed of 220 km/h, or 240 km/h with the AMG Driver‘s package, is the other astonishing figure, no less than the titanic 850 Nm of torque the engine generates. Not that anyone cares, but the combined fuel consumption is 13.2 l/100 km, and the combined CO2 emissions 299 g/km,mainly thanks to cylinder deactivation system. The partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing is legendary. Every time AMG comes up with a new supercar the boat makers release a special model celebrating that car. And so now it is time for a speedboat version of the AMG Project One, and it’s called Cigarette Racing 515 Project ONE. Right now we only have a teaser drawing of this magnificent thing to drool over, but the wait is not going to be long since Cigarette Racing 515 Project ONE will be revealed next week at the Miami Boat Show (February 15, 2018). Judging by what we can see, the boat tries to replicate the unique look of the hypercar with a special paint work featuring a silver base and black accents. As the sea-faring equivalent of the Project one, is also going to be fast. Like, really fast. It does not come as a surprise that the 2019 Corvette ZR1 in its first track outing has done an amazing thing. After all, this is a 755 horsepower supercar. It would have been a surprise if the car had gone around the Virginia Inteational Raceway circuit not having set new lap record. The time in which 2019 Corvette ZR1 completed a lap of the 4.1-mile Grand Course West at Virginia Inteational Raceway was 2:37.25 which is a new record for production cars at this circuit. The car was in stock form save some necessary safety equipment such as  haess bar and track seats with five-point haesses. It relied for this record on its 755hp and 969Nm LT5 6.2L supercharged engine, its carbon fiber aero kit including an adjustable High Wing, sport suspension and brakes including Magnetic Ride Control tuning, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer tires. ABT Sportline is coming to this year’s Geneva Motor Show with a hotted-up version of Audi’s RS5 Coupe. To look at it you would think ABT Audi RS5-R is a totally different animal than the standard car. But in fact the upgrades are pretty subtle in nature.This car just naturally look awesome.  In the engine department ABT Audi RS5-R does get a pretty good upgrade, but it’s nothing mind-blowing. The tuner has upped the output of the 2.9 liter biturbo V6 motor by 80 horsepower and boosted the torque by 90 Nm. That means the RS5 now has 530 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque to play with. And that means it can sprint form 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds as opposed to the standard model which completes the same task in 3.9 seconds. So there is no over-the-top million horsepower treatment here and that’s great. Those over-powered tuner cars are rarely usable on daily basis. ABT Audi RS5-R, though, could be driven everyday. Only it is more enjoyable,mainly thanks to the enhanced performance but also the new ABT muffler system which is part of the performance package and makes a superb noise. German tuner IMSA is known to those who have know a thing or two about the world of high-end tuning as the firm with some of the craziest body kits ever. With their latest project, however, they have gone sensible and focused mainly on performance. The result is this IMSA Mercedes-AMG S63 which they have re-badged the S720.  And there’s a clue as to the kind of power you can expect from this luxurious and classy monster. Don’t get us wrong. IMSA Mercedes-AMG S63 does come with a number of new body components. But these are very subtle and understated compared what we usually expect from this tuner, and their main purpose it to enhance the performance and make the car faster. They do so through a combination of weight saving and aerodynamic efficiency. The carbon parts tailored for the S720 include a pair of side sills, special air intakes, and rear diffuser with new tailpipes. The aero components are complemented with a set of CR2 alloy wheels based on the customer’s request, shod with 9×21 with tires in 255-35/21 on the front axle and 10,5×21 with 295-30/21 at the rear axle. Humans grow fond of people and things because those people and things satisfy certain needs they have, be it material or spiritual. I’m not saying you fall in love with your car because it gets you from A to B. You love that thing because of the memories you associate with it, because of how it once made you feel. Whenever there is a new Audi announced, it is a given that a tricked-out ABT version will follow it. And so here is your 2018 ABT Audi RS3, presenting an upgrade package that fits both the Sportback (hatchback) and Sedan versions of the hot little Ingolstädter.  A single glance at the new ABT Audi RS3 is enough to know it scores very high on the sex appeal index. But the upgrades devised for this car aren’t just cosmetic. They are designed to improve the high-performance Audi’s ride and handling, as well as its general driving fun, and at the same time give it cooler, more aggressive looks as a sort of bonus. This is best evident in the way the tuner has employed the height adjustable KW suspension. They lower the ride height of the car and thus improve the road holding and grip, while improving the stance. Well, you don’t need to strain your mind anymore trying to envision what the new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will look like. VW has dropped the official renderings of the new mid-size sedan ahead of its NAIAS debut, and they leave nothing to the imagination. Here’s thew new Jetta, and isn’t it just… ordinary? Not that we were expecting some revolutionary new design or some extraordinary feature. But the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta does not appear to different enough from the existing model to justify the title of ‘new’. In faiess though, they seem to have tried to include some of the design cues from the sexy Arteon into the Jetta, especially around the front and rear fascia. That means even though the standard model may not be very exciting, there is hope still for the R-version and other possible high performance variants to address the issue with sportier cues and more aggressive features. Lack of big power is one of the characteristics of the Mazda MX-5 sports car. It’s deliberate, so as to make you work the engine and gearbox and find the intrinsic joy there is in that. But some people prefer more get up and go and for them British tuner BBR has a new turbo upgrade package that breathes more life into the MX-5’s tiny little heart.  BBR Mazda MX-5 ND Stage 1 turbocharger upgrade for the 1498cc SKYACTIV-G engine ups the power to 210 bhp which is a staggering 81 bhp more the standard. It also bumps the torque 197 lb.ft of torque (86lb.ft more than stock). The col thing about this upgrade is that the real torque still kicks in at fairly high rpm (above 3,000 rpm, peaking at 4,100 rpm). So you still get to rev the nuts of that motor and wring it out through the snappy gearbox. The key aspect of BBR Mazda MX-5 ND turbo upgrade is the tuner’s exclusive TSX28-67R twin-scroll turbocharger. The art of 3D printing is enabling more and more individuals who have a vision for the perfect supercar to actually make it happen, provided their bank account is stout enough to support this hobby.
