The partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing is legendary. Every time AMG comes up with a new supercar the boat makers release a special model celebrating that car. And so now it is time for a speedboat version of the AMG Project One, and it’s called Cigarette Racing 515 Project ONE. Right now we only have a teaser drawing of this magnificent thing to drool over, but the wait is not going to be long since Cigarette Racing 515 Project ONE will be revealed next week at the Miami Boat Show (February 15, 2018). Judging by what we can see, the boat tries to replicate the unique look of the hypercar with a special paint work featuring a silver base and black accents. As the sea-faring equivalent of the Project one, is also going to be fast. Like, really fast. And just like the car, it is going to be the privilege of a select few to enjoy its looks and performance. If you fancy yourself a bit of Sir Elton John action, there are a bunch of ways you can indulge in that lifestyle. But you wouldn’t think, would you, that one of those ways has to do with cars. This handsome car you see here is Sir Elton’s 1997 Aston Martin Vantage V8, and it’s up for grabs.  Set to go under the hammer at the Silverstone Auctions Race Retro Classic Car Sale on the 24th and 25th February, Elton John’s 1997 Aston Martin Vantage is a V550 version in black with a black leather interior. Apparently, the Rocket Man had better things to do than drive this car though, as it only has 8,663 miles on the clock. Granted, Elton is one of the previous owners. But those who got the car after him knew that some say the celebrity connection would fetch them big bucks and so they kept the car in min condition. According to the auctioneer, the Vantage still has its new car smell. This generation of the V8 Vantage is one of the most iconic cars Aston has ever built. Prestigious British exotic and classic car dealer, Hexagon, is offering something so unique, it is guaranteed to make classic car lovers whimper with excitement! It’s a 1959 Aston Martin DB4, and as if that wasn’t cool enough, this car is a pre-production unit painstakingly resorted back to its original glory.  This highly desirable item was the third Right Hand Drive DB4 to come from Newport Pagnell, featuring custom upgrades by Aston Martin aficionado Richard Williams. Once a demonstrator, this 1959 Aston Martin DB4 has been converted to run on a Vantage triple Weber carb system and boasts a 5-speed gearbox. The wider wire wheels sit inside especially modified fenders and provide more grip than any standard DB4. So to drive this little piece of Aston history is a pretty delightful car. But the main joy is owning this gem is ogling it. Finished in unique Blu Scozia with re-trimmed leather interior, the car is the quintessential vintage British sports car. We really did not think that something like the Maybach G650 Landaulet could possibly have a rival, but we were wrong. In our defense that is such a niche vehicle, no one would be inclined to invest in making such a thing… no one except the eccentric visionary Afzal Kahn, it tus out. He has just teased the Kahn Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top which is a direct attempt at the Landaulet’s life.  On the face of it comparing a wonky Land Rover, which is what Kahn Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top is based on, to the unique Mercedes G-Class, which is what the Maybach G650 is based on, seems idiotic. Of course the Mercedes is a superior product. But you see, the Hunstman is no ordinary Land Rover. It is a completely bespoke car, every part of which is improved and when necessary redesigned from scratch by Kahn artisans. Granted, it still may not be as spacious or as comfortable as the big G, but calling it just as classy and luxurious is not stretching the truth. There are obvious advantages with Kahn Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top as well. For starters, it’s a 6×6 whereas the G650 has only, I mean only, four wheels.
