Right now there is a lot of brouhaha in the automotive world about the autonomous vehicles and how advanced they are getting. But we can’t help thinking it is very much like the buzz created by fuel cell technology when it first came into focus a decade or so ago. No one is taking the time to research if the real world is ready for an influx of robot cars. And there is yet another new thing on the horizon: brain-controlled cars.  Although the concept of brain-controlled cars may seem at first glance an even more outlandish idea than having an electronic brain driving the vehicle, when one thinks about the basics of it, it actually makes more sense. The whole thing about autonomous vehicles is that you can just sit back and let the machine do the grunt work. Well, you can do the same with a brain-controlled car, only here it is still you who makes the decisions… only using the power of your mind – the “force” as it were. It seems that everybody is getting an exclusive look at the Aston Martin DB11 these days except those closer to home in Europe. After featuring the car in their New Zealand on Ice event where it took to the snow, Aston Martin has now hosted a track day event in Japan where the guests got a first-hand driving experience of the new car. Aston Martin DB11 track day event was hosted at Sodegaura Forest Raceway. The guests also got to drive other cars of the range including the Rapide S and Vanquish as well as the super special Vantage GT8 which was piloted around by race driver Shinichi Katsura. If you are a delivery van who is always late to work, do not blame yourself. You are driving a van, and those things are awfully slow. German tuner B&B Automobiltechnik GmbH was obviously aware of the problems van drivers face on a daily basis. So they took in this VW T6, already a fast car by van standards packing a 204 horsepower petrol engine which can propel the vehicle to 100 km/h from 0 in about ten seconds, and basically just doubled its power output. That’s right, at 400 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque B&B VW T6 is about as powerful as a Porsche Carrera S. The BBC is breaking out the big guns, literally, to create more hype for the debut of the new Top Gear which is set to retu to British television on May 29, 2016. They have brought back a Clarkson-era publicity gimmick, the nine-meter (30 feet) long Big Stig statue and erected it in London at the BBC’s New Broadcasting House. The Big Stig was commissioned last year to promote BBC Brit, a network of the broadcasting company for the Polish people. Now this massive thing has been brought back to London where it was first created during a two month operation and has found a new home at a prominent place, leaving the onlooker in no doubt as to the purpose. If this can’t boost the new Top Gear’s ratings, nothing can. Too bad Clarkson and Wilman didn’t trademark The Stig so they could take him with them to the new Amazon Prime show, the Grand Tour. This tame racing driver was a brainchild of Jeremy who named him after an old classmate of his. It was also Jezza’s idea for the Stig to be mute, with the reason being, according to Clarkson, that racing drivers have tiny brains and nobody cares what they say. So will this relic of the old Top Gear will be enough to save the new one? If the reaction of the fans on the social media is anything to go by, the answer is a resounding no. By now you are probably familiar with the heavily customized, wide body Forgiato Corvettes, mainly because we have featured them here on MW on more than one occasion. Now let’s check out the latest Forgiato Camaro, an equally mad creation by the eccentric American firm. Just like the Corvette, Forgiato Camaro ZL1 features an exaggerated styling treatment that makes it look almost cartoonish. That’s not necessarily such a bad thing for this model, considering the Camaro’s career as the star of the Transformers movies. Nope, it does not tu into a robot or anything, but it looks fantastical enough to make you feel it just might! Granted, cars like Forgiato Camaro work best as show pieces and promotional vehicles, and it would be catastrophically embarrassing to drive them in public. But you could argue this thing is so insane, it has gone so beyond the boundaries of reason and dignity, it’s starting to make a weird kind of sense. It doesn’t take itself seriously, and neither should you. The extreme makeover this Camaro has been given begins with a new front bumper featuring massive intakes and grilles, complemented on top with a new hood and on the sides with some comically large fenders which join hand with a similar pair at the back through massive new sills.
