This year’s Geneva Motor Show will see the debut of something rather special from Land Rover, something we haven’t seen since the 70s. It’s called the Range Rover SV Coupe, and it’s a two-door version of the full-size luxury SUV featuring a “seductive” design and an ultra-refined interior.  They have only released a photo of the interior so far, but that is enough to make us long for this Range Rover SV Coupe. The original Range Rover launched in the 1970 as a two-door model, but that form kind of went away, featured only on a version of the Evoque. The SV, though, it’s not a downsized Range Rover or anything pathetic. It’s full-size, they say, and it’s going to blow you way with its sexiness, luxuriousness, and overall coolness. Range Rover SV Coupe will not appeal to those who buy a SUV because they need the practicality… because it’s just not going to be as practical as the four-door variant. That’s just a fact. It also has four seats instead of the usual five.This car will be the SUV of choice for those who buy a Rolls-Royce Wraith instead of a Phantom, and an AMG S65 Coupe instead of a Maybach. On the 70th anniversary of the iconic Defender, and with an all-new model currently in the works, Land Rover decided to treat the fans of this car to something rather special. The Classic Defender Works V8 is a tribute to the early V8 models, and the most powerful version of the SUV ever built.  The 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol V8 powertrain featured in the Defender Works V8 chus out 405PS and 515 Nm of torque. That is a far cry from the standard Defender which has to make do with only 122PS and 360 Nm. As a result, this V8 version is a limited, collector’s edition of just 150 copies, and the only one capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 106 mph. Detroit Motor Show this year sees the debut of the new 2019 Ford Ranger pickup truck. The favorite of mid-size truckers comes with upscale, handsome looks and a lot more tech features than before. What’s more, it is one of toughest vehicles in its class thanks to its “Built Ford Tough” construction.  Basically, what Built Ford Tough means is that the 2019 Ford Ranger is built to take some serious punishment. It features a rugged high-strength steel frame backbone and has been torture-tested alongside Ford F-150 trucks. The muscular and athletic body reflects the rough and tumble soul of this car. So whatever your business or adventure is, the new Ranger should be able to take care of it for years to come. Just in time for Christmas JLR has announced an “ultra-versatile” version of the Disco in the UK market. The new 2018 Land Rover Discovery Commercial is the ideal car to carry lots of boxes of presents, or tow a huge Xmas tree. The only problem the car won’t be released until the second quarter of next year.  But they, that gives you an excuse not to get a tree this year, and limit the presents to small, cheap items. What are yo gonna do, your regular Discovery does not enough room! You can promise your kids next year you will get the Land Rover Discovery Commercial which has up to 1,856 litres of flexible load space and can tow up to legal UK limit of 3.5 tonnes. Everybody in the car world was waiting to see the new BMW i8 Roadster in production form. And although we have to admit the whole thing was a bit anti-climactic given the build-up, the hybrid sports car is still a hugely desirable thing. The new model, and the latest version of the i8 Coupe, benefit from increased range as well.  The optimized BMW eDrive powertrain with its turbocharged three-cylinder and electric motors delivers 369 hp in the BMW i8 Roadster – and of course the 2018 Coupe, but it’s hard to focus on that with the Roadster in the center of things.
