With enhancements in design and technology, the updated 2019 Skoda Fabia comes to this year’s Geneva Motor Show to rock the small car market. The design changes seem to have been done in a bit of a hurry to be honest, but the car does look fresh enough to deserve the title of ‘new’.  To quickly go over the new stuff in the design of 2019 Skoda Fabia, you have the revised fascia front and rear, complete with the new headlights and new wheel design, including an 18 inch option for the hatchback version. LED head and taillights are among the other new options. Size-wise, the Fabia hasn’t changed much, but inside the cabin redesigned instrument cluster, new trim strips for the dashboard and two-tone finishes for the seats count among the improved elements. The crossover segment is showing no signs of diminishing. If anything, it is getting bigger, which is why even car makers like Skoda is delving deeper into this market. These sketches they have released previews the Skoda Vision X concept, a new urban crossover set for debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.  Though compact, The Vision X is described by Skoda as having generous proportions and a spacious interior. The concept features at the latest trends incorporated into Skoda’s design language, but don’t hold your breath to see any of the cool styling elements of the concept, such as distinctive bumpers, dynamic side sills, or the 20-inch alloy wheels, on the production model. The same goes for the unique FlexGreen paint job Skoda Vision X concept boasts. As for the interior, Skoda Vision X concept features a completely new design language and introduces daring new elements of style. 90 grand is a lot of money for what’s, in its essence, a BMW 5 Series saloon. But then this is no ordinary saloon car. The new 2018 Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo is, in the tuner’s own words, the most affordable 200 mph production car in the UK. Now that is some good justification! We have to point out the £89,000 is for the 2018 Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo sedan. The Estate version kicks off at £91,000. But as you may have already guessed, it is the fastest wagon out there. Powering both of these German monsters is a 608 horsepower Alpina-tuned BMW V8. This engine is altogether sweeter and more civilized than the one you get in BMW’s own M5. It is also capable of generating 670 Nm (494 lbft) of torque, swelling to an astonishing 800 Nm (590 lbft) from 3,000 – 5,000 rpm. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission also improved for this car. As a result the B5 Bi-turbo Saloon will hit 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, with the Touring just 0.1 seconds behind, before clocking 205 mph flat out. Every year we are treated to a whole bunch of new 911 models, but only a handful of them are interesting enough to warrant a close inspection. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package is certainly one of those, a wing-less, manual version of the GT3 built for purists. Here we take a close look at this superb machine in detailed pictures and videos.  The distinguishing feature of the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package is a variable rear spoiler like the 911 Carrera in place of the regular GT3 large fixed wing. Being a pure sort of 911, the car features a four-litre naturally aspirated engine with 500 horsepower and 460 Nm. Sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, that power propel the Touring Package to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 316 km/h. Along with the GT3 Touring Package, this year we also got a tighter, lighter version of the Carrera. It’s called the Porsche 911 Carrera T, a badge that harks back 1968, and it promises some old-school fun with features such as less weight, shorter transmission ratios from the manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive with mechanical rear differential lock. Let’s take a deeper look at this cool sports car. Powering the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T is a twin turbocharged 3.0 liter flat-six with 370 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It enables the T to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km/h.while manual gearbox is standard,  PDK is available as an option. But 911 T is more about the fun of driving than outright speed, mainly thanks to a shorter rear axle ratio and mechanical differential lock, but also to some serious weight saving. There is less sound proofing and some of the windows are made of plastic, and rear seats have been omitted along with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM). Well, you don’t need to strain your mind anymore trying to envision what the new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will look like. VW has dropped the official renderings of the new mid-size sedan ahead of its NAIAS debut, and they leave nothing to the imagination. Here’s thew new Jetta, and isn’t it just… ordinary? Not that we were expecting some revolutionary new design or some extraordinary feature. But the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta does not appear to different enough from the existing model to justify the title of ‘new’. In faiess though, they seem to have tried to include some of the design cues from the sexy Arteon into the Jetta, especially around the front and rear fascia. That means even though the standard model may not be very exciting, there is hope still for the R-version and other possible high performance variants to address the issue with sportier cues and more aggressive features. At any rate, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta is a quality product mechanically and structurally, being based on the manufacturer’s renowned MQB platform which underpins some seriously good cars. Lack of big power is one of the characteristics of the Mazda MX-5 sports car. It’s deliberate, so as to make you work the engine and gearbox and find the intrinsic joy there is in that. But some people prefer more get up and go and for them British tuner BBR has a new turbo upgrade package that breathes more life into the MX-5’s tiny little heart.  BBR Mazda MX-5 ND Stage 1 turbocharger upgrade for the 1498cc SKYACTIV-G engine ups the power to 210 bhp which is a staggering 81 bhp more the standard. It also bumps the torque 197 lb.ft of torque (86lb.ft more than stock). The col thing about this upgrade is that the real torque still kicks in at fairly high rpm (above 3,000 rpm, peaking at 4,100 rpm). So you still get to rev the nuts of that motor and wring it out through the snappy gearbox. The key aspect of BBR Mazda MX-5 ND turbo upgrade is the tuner’s exclusive TSX28-67R twin-scroll turbocharger. It comes with bespoke casing,  front-mounted air to air intercooler,  a high-flow K&N induction system and BBR’s renowned Starchip / EcuTek RaceRom ECU software package, which includes revised fuel, ignition and boost calibration. Not that it needed a special feature to set itself apart from the ordinary SUV crowd, but the new 2019 Infiniti QX50 gets one nonetheless.
