Sights and Sounds: RENNtech Mercedes CLS63 Shooting Brake

We don’t get to see the amazing RENNtech Mercedes CLS63 AMG as much as we like to. In fact, our last proper look at this beast was when Matt Farah drove it in Florida and showed us how awesome it was. But that car was a sedan version and it had only 700 horsepower. This one we have here is a Shooting Brake and it packs 800 horsepower!

So let’s have a closer look at the RENNtech Mercedes CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake and go for a ride in it before we get to the technical details. Just listen to that exhaust note:

Built as a development car by the tuner’s European branch, this RENNtech Mercedes CLS63 features a bespoke power package which, as mentioned, makes 800 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. The ingredients of this power kit includes Stage 1 turbocharger upgrade, downpipes, and custom ECU upgrade. So there’s more to be extracted from this engine. This Shooting Brake also serves as a testbed for other mods RENNtech has in mind, including an adjustable lowering kit, aero kit including carbon fiber front and rear spoilers and diffusers, and a set of 20 inch Deep Monolite 10.2 wheels in gunmetal grey measuring 20″ x 9.0″ on the front and 20″ x 11.0” on the rear axle.
