Caterham Seven 310 Announced

Not many people believe Caterham when they say they make a whole bunch of different models because they all look the same. But the truth is, the car maker’s range has something for every budget, every taste and every level of driving skills. The latest addition to the range is the Caterham Seven 310 which the manufacturer claims is the ‘sweet spot’ model.

That is to say the 310 is the best-balanced Seven model to date, offering the best compromise between power, efficiency and value for money. The car is a reinterpretation of the old Rover-powered Superlight R300 model and it packs a 152bhp Sigma engine which, despite the relatively tiny output, is enough for the car to make the leap from Tracksport to Supersport category.

Caterham Seven 310 is offered as a factory-built model, available from early 2017, for £24,995. The cool thing is existing Caterham Seven 270 owners can have their cars upgraded to 310 spec for just £1,495, which makes sense since he Sigma engine upgrade program consist mainly of high-performance camshafts and revised mapping good enough for an extra 20 horsepower. The 310 will also be the first model to be offered with LED headlamps, which for a Caterham count as a luxury option.
