Blast from the Past: Edo Koenigsegg CCR

These days German tuner Edo Competition keeps busy doing light modifications on the latest GT cars, but not the long ago they were the world’s most badass tuner working on hyper cars no other firm dared touching. This 2011 Edo Koenigsegg CCR is a relic from that period and it is still more awesome than all other Edo cars combined.

It takes a lot of guts to take a car like the CCR and claim you can improve on the work of a firm like Koenigsegg. But that is exactly what Edo did back in the day. They put their money where they mouth is by not only boosting the power output of this naughty car, but also improving its driving experience.

Edo Koenigsegg CCR received in its tuning treatment a remapped ECU and modified drive ratio to put down a mind-bending 891 horsepower to the rear wheels. Then they set about improving the “notchy” six speed gearbox and replaced its plastic bushings with Uniball units. As a result of these mods, which improved the car’s stability at speed over 300 km/h, the CCR became capable of reaching a remarkable top speed of 390 km/h (242 mph).

Other highlights of the magnificent Edo Koenigsegg CCR include charcoal painted rims, updated front with auxiliary lights, tire pressure monitoring system, Alcantara upholstery for the interior, a new infotainment system including a reversing camera as well as a custom-made pouch for the immobilizer remote.
