Aston Martin DB11 Gets AMG V8 Engine

Taking their relationship with Mercedes-AMG to the next level, Aston Martin is releasing a new version of the DB11 super GT with the V8 engine out of the AMG GT. The 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V8 bi-turbo expands the model’s range and should attract new buyers with its blend of performance and efficiency. 

They haven’t even modified the AMG engine for use in the Aston Martin DB11 V8. It makes the same 510 horsepower as in the Mercedes. It is lighter than the V12 though (a saving of 115kg) and so it is still capable of decent performance with a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph. Meanwhile this big Grand Tourer returns CO2 emissions of 230g/km and an EU Combined fuel economy figure of 28.5mpg.

Aston Martin DB11 V8 is re-tuned to make use of its lighter weight compared to the V12 version. It comes with revised suspension bushing, geometry, anti-roll bars, springs, dampers and ESP software, all of which should give it a more sports car-like feel. Visual distinctions include a unique alloy wheel finish, dark headlamp bezels and a pair of bonnet vents instead of the quartet featured on the V12. The interior design and options are the same as the V12 model.

Prices for the V8-powered DB11 star from £144.900 in the UK, €184,000 in Germany and $198,995 in the US.
