Mercedes AMG GT Upgrade by Cartech

Swiss tuner Cartech takes us to school today, teaching us the proper ways of upgrading the chassis and performance of a Mercedes AMG GT S. Not that the standard car lacks anything in those aspects, but you can always work in a little extra panache to make the whole thing better, more enjoyable.

They began their work on the Mercedes AMG GT on the ramp where they swap the stock wheels for a set of HRE RS101 rims in sizes 10,0×20 with 265/30 tires on the front and 12,0×21 with 305/25 tires out back. The wheels come in black which complement the paint finish on this car, and they are shod with high-performance Michelin Pilot Supersport rubber, so they enhance the handling as well.

Done with the wheels Cartech Mercedes AMG GT then undergoes some knee surgery where its main suspension components get replaced by ultra-sophisticated KW units. These bits work in tandem with the wheels to improve the car’s road holding, which is a good thing, considering what the tuner has done with the engine. Through a number of mods including remapping the engine’s electronic brain, Cartech has managed to boost the power of this GT to 612 hp and 760 Nm of torque.
