Official: Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante

The dominant theme of this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance seems to be open-top limited edition super cars. After Lamborghini revealed their Centenario Roadster at another corner of the lawn we saw this, the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante, which is also going into production is limited numbers.

Apart from not having a solid roof, Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante is identical to its hardtop sibling in every way. It comes with a 592bhp V12 engine which is good for a 0 to 60 time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of over 200 mph, and it has all the unique design touches that separates the Zagato from your run-of-the-mill Vanquish. But because it is a roadster, the Volante is that much more exclusive than the hardtop and therefore it will be the more popular, and more expensive, of the two.

With deliveries scheduled for early 2017, Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante will offer the buyer the chance to customize the color and interior trim of the vehicle, but the design features are as you seem them here. The highlights on the exterior include ‘bladed’ LED tail lights from the Vulcan, twin cowls on the rear deck, and carbon fiber sills under the doors. Inside, the car comes with herringbone carbon-fibre, anodized bronze detailing and the finest Bridge of Weir leather, signature ‘Z’ quilt pattern stitch on both seat and door sections, as well as the celebrated trademark Zagato ‘Z’ embossed on the headrests and stitched into the centre console, all done by the specialists at the ‘Q’ department.

“Just like the Coupe, we have emphasised the way surfaces change and intersect to create a muscular form. We’ve endeavoured to create an elegant, flowing shape that really works to emphasise the car’s sculpted rear haunches,” says Aston Martin’s EVP and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman.
